Weymouth

A Seaside Town on the Jurassic Coast

Weymouth is a beautiful seaside town on Dorset’s south coast. It sits proudly on the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This famous coastline stretches 96 miles, offering dramatic cliffs and breathtaking views.

The town is located at the mouth of the River Wey, just 7 miles from Dorchester, Dorset’s county town. Surrounding Weymouth are iconic white cliffs and rolling green hills.

Weymouth Beach is a major highlight. It has golden sands and calm, clear waters perfect for families and water sports. The beach was named Britain’s Best Beach 2023 by The Times and ranks high in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards. It also held the Blue Flag Award for 2024, recognising its quality and cleanliness.

Nearby Portland Harbour hosts the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. This was the venue for the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, putting Weymouth on the global map.

Visitors and residents enjoy the town’s vibrant fishing harbour, with its mix of working boats and leisure yachts. The harbour area offers a charming mix of restaurants, cafes, and shops.

Weymouth combines natural beauty, history, and modern leisure for a truly special lifestyle.
